POLE

POLE TRAININGS

Strength, grace, and sensuality combine on this vertical stainless steel apparatus. Pole Trainings break down various spins, dance movement, floorwork, and conditioning exercises. In the process, you will improve body awareness and coordination. You will also increase upper body strength and flexibility. No worries if you have none of these skills. We will teach you all the basics needed to progress.

Until NYC’s group fitness restrictions are lifted, Body & Pole will continue to not conduct any indoor classes. We will continue to offer individualized guided level trainings on single-use equipment.

To remain compliant, we ask that you warm yourself up at the start of each training. Your trainer will be available to personally guide you with one-on-one instruction throughout your training in proper form and technique. Body & Pole remains committed to the highest safety standards to ensure you enjoy a safe aerial flight.

INTRO TO POLE

INTRO TO POLE

If you have never tried pole dancing, this is where your journey begins. You will learn the fundamentals of pole dance technique and strength training that will prepare you to join our beginner level Trainings. We recommend that you take Intro to Pole 3-5 times before moving on. Please wear shorts or pants that can be rolled up to expose the back of your knees.

LEVEL 1

POLE – LEVEL 1 (BEGINNER)

Pole Level 1 is designed to build upon the basics you’ve learned in Intro to Pole. You will learn how to spin, climb, and move smoothly up, down, and around the pole. In essence, this is the level where pole students begin to dance in the air for the first time while building the strength they will need to prepare for inverted techniques.

POLE’OGRAPHY – LEVEL 1 & UP

In Pole’Ography you will learn a unique, stylized routine designed to increase your pole dance vocabulary while also focusing on musical and emotional connectivity. The goal is to improve your sense of musicality, lines, and expression with the use of dynamic and contrasting movement on the pole. (Pre-requisite: Pole Level 1)

INVERTaPOLE – LEVEL 1 & UP

This pole-based training teaches you how to understand and find balance upside-down in handstands, headstands and other arm balances. You will practice core conditioning, wrist prep and alignment exercises that prepare all levels for inversions.

LIQUID MOTION POLE – LEVEL 1 & UP

Liquid Motion is a style and methodology that incorporates 5 basic Fundamental & Techniques to understand dance, movement and true sensual exploration. Students will start from the ground up, learning floor work. Then students will have the option to transition these ideas to the pole. Liquid Motion is not just sensual floor work… it’s the true knowledge and understanding of movement, both on and off an apparatus. The Liquid Motion methodology states that if one can understand these techniques through floor work application, then they can truly make their body move like Liquid. There is no pole experience necessary, as the pole is used as an apparatus and tool to help unlock your own LIQUID MOTION.

LEVEL 2

POLE – LEVEL 2 (BEGINNER – INTERMEDIATE)

Pole Level 2 is designed for those who have been working on climbs and spins, and are ready to begin basic pole inversions. You will continue to learn more advanced climbs, spins, and floor work variations while building the strength and confidence necessary for proper inversion technique.

SPINNY POLE – LEVEL 2 & UP

In Spinny Pole Level 2 & Up you will take your Level 2 static pole technique and apply it to the spinning pole. You’ll learn creative ways to travel up and down the pole as well as how to control your speed while maintaining your flow. Pre-requisite: Must be comfortable with basic inversions.

POLE POWER – LEVEL 2 & UP

Pole Power Level 2 & Up focuses on improving the strength training and conditioning techniques covered in Pole Level 1 and Pole Level 2. This Training is designed to enhance your overall practice and L1/L2 experience: By training power, you will ultimately gain control which leads to fluidity and grace.

POLE FLUIDITY – LEVEL 2 & UP

In Pole Fluidity Level 2 you will learn to flow your Level 2 pole dance techniques into fluid sequences. The emphasis will be placed on body awareness and connecting movement rather than on the technical specifics of the skills being taught. Students must take Pole Level 2 for at least 4 weeks before attending.

LOW FLOW HEELS – LEVEL 2 & UP

Low Flow Heels will keep you dancing from start to finish. Elevate the skills you’ve acquired in Level 2, but six, seven, or eight inches higher. Students may wear heels with the height of their choosing but should refrain from wearing street shoes.

LEVEL 3

POLE – LEVEL 3 (INTERMEDIATE)

Pole Level 3 is designed for those who are already comfortable with Level 2 inversions (both grounded and aerially), leg hangs, climbing variations, and spin pole. Level 3 will bring your training to the next level with power spins, more advanced inversions, and challenging holds which involve fewer and/or smaller points of contact. You will learn how to bring all the skills you’ve acquired together to execute both dynamic and fluid aerial combinations. This is the level where the student truly begins to find their unique strengths and style as a pole dance athlete/artist.

LEVEL 4

POLE – LEVEL 4  (INTERMEDIATE – ADVANCED)

Pole Level 4 is designed to challenge the advanced student with the highest level strength and flexibility tricks, intricate transitions, dynamic flows, flips, drops, and tumbles. The focus is on the balance of strength, power, fluidity, and grace at the highest level.
*Sign-up for this level is permitted by approval only.
