Meet our newest Body & Pole instructor, Linda Gergye! A former ballroom dancer, she found Body & Pole while searching for aerial dance classes, which ultimately led her to pole dance, too! She’s now elevatED certified and teaches both silks and pole classes. Read more below for what you can expect in Linda’s classes, and don’t forget to follow her on IG at @lindagergye
What apparatuses do you teach?
Silks and pole.
What is your background in dance, and aerial dance specifically?
I used to be a professional ballroom dancer and I have been doing aerial since 2017 with some gaps in between but always with the purpose of becoming a professional performer and teacher.
How did you discover Body & Pole?
I used to take different movement classes and Body & Pole popped up on my Classpass. At that time I already had aerial in the back of my mind after trying flying trapeze and seeing a few shows. And that’s how I got hooked!
What are you most excited to teach at Body & Pole?
I Iove all my classes for different reason: Intro because I love watching new people experience aerial and pole for the first time and help them get excited about all the possibilities their training might hold. In higher level classes I really enjoy the creativity of breaking down moves and finding progressions and regressions so it’s accessible to everyone.
What can students expect from your classes?
They can expect detailed breakdown of technique, working on the fluidity of movement, a dancey flow, some drama, encouragement and funny moments!
