When the lights go down and the bass drops, magic happens at Body & Pole’s iconic Lap Dance Pole class—an electrifying Nite Club experience led by the fierce and fabulous Gretchen Sutherland. With stilettos on and confidence dialed all the way up, this class blurs the line between performance and empowerment. Inspired by Gretchen’s own experience in the club, this class is your time to step into the spotlight and serve it like you’re on stage.

From Gretchen’s unapologetic stage presence to the discipline behind each eight-count, here are 4 things she learned in the club that now give her an edge in the classroom.

1. Play a role

You can be someone different in each class! I can pretend I’m very sweet, or dominant, or maybe even shy, depending on how I read the audience (more on that in #4!)

2. Hone your poker face:

Don’t show your fears or insecurities. And believe it or not, no one expects to see a perfect body, face or moves. Sometimes we can be our own harshest critics, but consider this permission to be perfectly imperfect.

3. Live the fantasy:

I can start pretending to have fun and end up really feeling and living the fantasy — once you have the attitude, you can get into whatever role you want to play. Fake it ’til you make it!

4. Connect with the audience:

You’d be surprised how much you can connect with the audience through body language and looks. This is how I break the ice to let them know I’m open to having a conversation. Don’t be afraid to play with the audience: you can flirt, make them think you’re going to do something and then do something different. Surprise them!

Gretchen Sutherland’s Lap Dance Pole isn’t just a class; it’s a crash course in self-expression and power. Show up fully, move with intention, and never dim your shine. Ready to dance? Book your spot in Lap Dance Pole with Gretchen Thursdays at 8pm.
