Every year pole dancers from around the world descend on Las Vegas for the annual Pole Expo. 2017 was no different, and Body & Pole was delighted to be an active sponsor at this year’s event. The event is housed at the Hard Rock Hotel, and runs from Thursday through Sunday, featuring, free content, paid workshops, vendor booths, a pole show, and two competitions.
We were proud to cheer on B&P student Sammy Wong in the Pole Classic competition Thursday night. Hosted at “The Joint” at the Hard Rock Hotel, Sammy enthralled the audience and the judges, winning second place in the men’s division.
Workshops at the expo run from 9am to 5pm, and are devoted to pole content, flexibility, handstands, and some aerial apparatuses. The main vendor hall housed over 60 vendors from around the globe, primarily promoting pole apparel, as well as grip products, training tools, and studio representation. The Body & Pole booth was a welcome retreat from the frenetic expo energy. Students and stars alike enjoyed sitting and chatting on the comfy couch, rolling on the carpet, or snapping a pic with the B&P logo in the space designed to replicate our NYC studio lobby.
Pole Show LA, the brainchild of California poler Leigh Ann Reilly, has branched out from the Los Angeles based production, bringing its glitz and glamour to the stage at Mandalay Bay Friday night of the expo weekend.
ElevatED Pole & Flexibility Teacher Trainings ran several workshops with master trainers and creators Marlo Fisken, Kyra Johannesen, and Michelle Stanek. From flexibility tips to spotting intensives, attendees came away with some next level knowledge about how to inspire their students back home.
B&P also brought the Body & Pole experience to Vegas! We featured three signature classes on the schedule; Spin Pole with Michelle Stanek, Pole’Ography with Magnus Labbe, and Flexibility Training with Lara Michaels. B&P kept the fun rolling with a Saturday evening pool party, featuring a stage pole by Lupit Pole, DJ, open bar, games and giveaways, and photos by Christian Buitron. The night continued to roll on a winning streak for instructor Sam Star, who placed first in the Pole Olympia competition at Light nightclub!
Many thanks to all who stopped by the B&P booth, took workshops with our instructors, and rocked our pool party games, and BIG thanks to Lupit Pole again for making the pool party a pool + pole party!
