In Beats & Dynamic Drama we are throwing some big flavor into your aerial repertoire by adding momentum to the mix. We’ll hone in on progressions and details you need to start working with momentum in the air or perfect those momentum based projects you’re dying to improve. There’ll be beats galore on hoop, fabric and hammock alike, and don’t you worry you aerial nerds, there’ll be plenty of nerd talk for you too. After all, momentum = aerial weightlessness!
- The Spin Doctor with Brenna Bradbury
Saturday 5:45 – 7:45 p.m.
Are you losing your spin half way through your sequence? Do you still get that queasy feeling when finally putting your feet to the floor? Well pay a visit to The Spin Doctor to help diagnose our spinning troubles!!
In the two hour lyra workshop, we will spin ourselves silly, working on rotational movement outside of and within the apparatus. We will also pay attention to maintenance – how to keep that good spin, swing or orbit going once you have it. AANND most importantly, we’ll being to train ourselves on how to not throw up afterwords!
- Swing Forward to Orbit Back with Tyler Shaqiri
Sunday 9:30 -11:30 a.m.
Swing Forward to Orbit Back workshops on aerial fabric and hoop will explore several techniques of a swing and an orbit. Once you lift off the ground, you’ll learn how to keep your movement smooth, balanced and controlled. Finally, we’ll add skills, transitions and harness the power of centripetal force to create a dynamic and engaging performance.
- Balance, Rolls & Drop Control with Summer Lacy
Sunday 11:45 a.m. -1:45 p.m.
Stop, drop and let’s roll! In this workshop you will learn to control your balance and aerial power utilizing both fabric and hoop. Drill core exercises and explore advanced techniques, like C-Shapes, to make drops smoother and more controlled with less effort. Master gravity, momentum and levers to add grace to your rolls and take your balance game to the next level! Finally, create more impactful performances and more powerful imagery by focusing on energetic expression of energy flow.
