FAQ

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?

POLE

For our Intro and Level 1, we recommend shorts or pants that can be rolled up to expose the back of your knees. You will need skin exposed to help grip the pole. You are also welcome to bring layers to start the warm-up in. Our more advanced levels will require fitted shorts and sports bra to allow for greater skin exposure to help grip the pole. No transparent material is allowed. No undergarments are allowed to be used in place of workout attire.

SILK & HOOP

We encourage students to wear fitted clothing that covers the back of their knees and torso for all aerial classes, other than pole. This will help avoiding burns caused by friction from the fabric or hoop.

FLEX

We recommend athletic attire that is stretchable and you feel comfortable moving in.

FloorWERK

We encourage knee pads, longs pants, and a long sleeve shirt.

WHAT IF I’M ON THE WAITLIST?

If you are on Waitlist… Standby.

We recommend that you add yourself to the waitlist for any class that you’d like to attend. If a spot opens up and you are next on the list, you will be added automatically up to three hours before the class. If you are no longer able to attend, you need to remove yourself from the waitlist. If you are automatically added, the 24-hour cancellation policy does apply.

WHAT IF I SHOW UP LATE? CAN I STILL JOIN THE CLASS?

DO NOT BE LATE.

YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO JOIN THE CLASS. YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO SWITCH TO ANOTHER DAY AND WILL NOT BE REFUNDED YOUR MONEY.

You should be dressed and ready to start your session at the scheduled time. You may arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled class to avoid being late. Please note, we currently do not permit entry to the studio prior to this timeframe.

This is a safety issue, and we ask that you respect both our instructors and other students by showing up on time as tardiness is disruptive to the class experience we aim to provide.

DO I NEED TO SIGN UP IN ADVANCE OR CAN I JUST DROP IN FOR A CLASS?

Classes fill up quickly at Body & Pole, so you are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to the class you would like to attend to secure your spot. We do accept walk-in students if there is open space in a class. If you choose to drop in, you may arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled class start time.

SHOULD I BRING HEELS TO POLE CLASSES?

Heels are not recommended for those with little or no pole dance experience. Heels can initially make dancing harder as they add height and extra weight. Street shoes or regular heels are not allowed; you will only be permitted to wear heels that have proper rubber soles, as they are safer and constructed for pole dancing. Heels are recommended for our Low Flow Heels classes. We currently do not offer shoe rental options at the studio.

DO I NEED A DANCE BACKGROUND?

No background in dance or aerial is required to take a class. But make sure to sign up for an INTRO class first if you are new to Pole, Hoop or Silk. We teach you everything you need to know to progress. With the guidance of your instructor, you can determine when you’re ready to move up to the next level.

I HAVE NO UPPER BODY STRENGTH, WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?

It is not a problem. Our job is to help you build strength and body awareness. This will progress over time as you continue taking class. We recommend starting with INTRO classes if you are new to Pole, Hoop or Silk.

IS THERE A CHANGING ROOM IN THE STUDIO? SHOWERS?

Our locker rooms are fully open. If preferred, we also have personal changing stations available for use. There are no showers on premises.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW PRIOR TO COMING TO A CLASS?

You should not apply any lotions or oils the day of a pole dance class. Sweating will release the lotion or oils back to the skin surface, and you will be unable to safely grip the pole.

Please leave your jewelry at home. It can cause damage to our apparatuses and you will be held responsible. It is also a safety hazard if your jewelry becomes caught on any aerial equipment. You will not be allowed to wear any jewelry in any of our aerial dance classes.
