Note: We encourage students to wear clothing that covers the backs of their knees and torso for all aerial classes, other than pole. This will help avoiding burns caused by friction with the fabric or hoop.

Introduction to Aerial Hoop: If you have NEVER taken an aerial hoop (Lyra) class and are new to aerial apparatus, this is the class for you. In this class you will learn the various techniques to enter and exit from the hoop along with conditioning, strength and flexibility exercises. After grasping these fundamentals, you will be comfortable joining beginner level aerial hoop classes. We recommend that you take this class 3-4 times or have instructor approval to take beginner classes.

Aerial Hoop – LEVEL 1

Aerial hoop (aka lyra) is a circular apparatus suspended from a single point. Build strength, showcase flexibility and learn to flip, turn, roll, pose, and transition between positions. Classes begin with basic skills and conditioning and gradually progress into fluid choreographed sequences.

Aerial Hoop – LEVEL 2

Aerial hoop (aka lyra) is a circular apparatus suspended from a single point. Build strength, showcase flexibility and learn to flip, turn, roll, pose, and transition between positions. Classes begin with basic skills and conditioning and gradually progress into fluid choreographed sequences. For intermediate classes, students must be proficient mounting and dismounting top and bottom bar of hoop while the apparatus is both static and spinning. Students will build upon the basic skills acquired in beginner hoop and will add focus on artistic performance.

Lyra Classes NYC

LYRA’OGRAPHY – LEVEL 1 + 2

Using the aerial hoop (lyra) as a partner and apparatus, this class allows you to explore the possibilities of manipulating and moving with, on, in, through and around the lyra to expand your vocabulary and range of motion. Heightened focus will be on strength and flexibility to include grace, style and action by changing heights, planes and other partnerships with the lyra.

Requirement: MUST be comfortable in Level 1 Hoop or have experience other aerial apparati
