2016-2017 Artist in Residence: Magnus Labbe

BIO

MISSION: Finding joy and happiness through movement.

Magnus Labbe is from Denmark, but he is currently traveling, teaching and performing around the world to share his passion for pole dance.

He has 10 years of dance experience and is trained in Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. He has been teaching dance since 2008, but he fell in love with Pole 5 years ago. The new way of dancing in the air and combining dance and aerial arts was fascinating and Magnus had to explore this new way of dancing.

His unique style has made him a respectable and world known Pole Dancer in the Pole community, where he have been a judge at Pole Art France, Pole Theatre Sweden and Pole Dance Competition Denmark.

2016-2017 Artist in Residence: Anna Thomas Henry

BIO

Anna is a contemporary circus artist specializing in aerial fabric based out of Seattle, WA. Her innovative work on fabric has earned her first place at the 2015 U.S. Aerial Championships in NYC as well as placement as a finalist in the 2015 Aerial Acrobatic Arts Festival in Denver.

Anna is a 2014 graduate of SANCA Seattle’s Professional Preparatory Program where her primary focus was on aerial fabric and hand-balancing. Prior to attending SANCA, Anna completed education at the Circus Warehouse Pro Program (NYC), The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (Musical Theatre, NYC), and The Shanghai Conservatory of Music (Voice, Shanghai, PRC). She is a multi-disciplinary performer who has performed and toured in circus, dance and musical theater all across the country.

You can find her in Seattle coaching aerial, hand-balanancing, strength and flexibility at SANCA where she is the Aerial Lead & Principal Coach for the Professional Prep Program as well as touring to perform and give workshops. Anna is a frequent collaborating performer with The Acrobatic Conundrum and Animate Objects Physical Theatre.
